Gokounomiya Shrine
Parents from all over Japan visit Gokounomiya Shrine before childbirth to receive blessings from Empress Jingu, the goddess of safe delivery. The sacred water, ‘Gokousui’, which springs up in the precinct of the shrine is famous for its beautiful taste. Gokounomiya Shrine is also popular among the fans of the Japanese Warring States period because both Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu are enshrined in its precinct.
